Just like any other products in this world, barbecue grills have also their own cousins and relatives to make it easier for us consumers to choose the right model for ourselves according to our necessities. The price tags also range from the cheapest to the uttermost expensive.

It is paramount for us to be familiar with all the types so that we will not be confused with all the jargon and the differences. It is also advisable that we do some research on each type in order to really understand the difference of the models. To further help those who is in the process of selecting the right grills for themselves, this articles will provide some of the basic information.

The gas grills are becoming the popular choice nowadays. For health conscious people who still want that barbecued taste to their food without compromising their health, gas grills are the best. According to researches, charcoal-grilled food is carcinogens since they are cooked and exposed to the burnt charcoal. This is not good as too much of those food will result in us getting cancers.

Gas grills are healthier and safer choice because they cook the food just the same like the charcoal grills, minus the smoke and hazardous carbons. They taste similar and health is guaranteed. For charcoal grills enthusiasts, however, they do not care. If their ancestors can live healthily after all the years of charcoal-grilled food, why cannot they?

Charcoal grills are also cheaper than the gas grills. Nevertheless, the former is far harder to use than the latter. People will need to have fire starters and good coals to use charcoal grills while gas grills only need us to turn on the fire with stove lighter and that is it. Furthermore, charcoal grilling is a bit tedious for somebody who is not used to handling fires and the food. They might end up with burnt and unappetizing food.

A flattop grill is a type of gas grill and it is gaining popularity fast. This kind of grills grills the food and meat without having the need to expose the food to direct heat. The food is grilled on a flat grill with griddle-like surface. The food will have that signature burn marks caused by conventional grills, minus the direct heat exposure. The moisture and juice of all food are reserved and some consumers say that their grilled food tastes better when they use this grill.

The next model is the electric grills. It is a newer version and basically, it is an oven on wheels. This grill uses no fuel but an electrical point and a cord. They self-clean and their temperature can be controlled. In other words, this kind of grilling gives consumers more control and more freedom to cook. The only problem is that it costs quite a lot.

Whatever model you wish to use as your official household grills, one thing that matters is how you want your food to be like and how you would like to entertain your friends and family during a big cook-off. Choose according to your personality and you will be more than happy to share your cooking with people around you.

It has at long last begun. Football 2009.

In principle it started last week on the smurf turf in Boise, Idaho in a game destined to be known for what occurred afterwards the blunt Blount party -more than anything that occurred at several point in the 60 minutes of the game.

And now the Steelers – hoping to become the 1st franchise since the Pats to repeat – began their championship defense with a gratifying victory over the Titans to inaugurate the 2009 football year.

I understand I’m not as productive throughout football season. Suddenly, I am only doing stuff during commercials, if ever, on Saturdays and Sundays, plus Thursday nights, Friday nights, and Monday nights.

Then throw in fantasy football – which drastically lessens the amount of time I’d otherwise be productive, writing, or doing something prolific-and more hours than I care to acknowledge are devoted to this game.

This time of season, I undoubtedly don’t eat as well.

Wednesday night, I had fish with mixed vegetables and went for a dip after a six mile jog.

Thursday (game day), I had a super burrito, too many chips, beers, ice cream, more chips, and saw the movie Max Payne following the game, prior to checking fantasy stats for Kerry Collins and then staggering to bed, full from the chips.

Do not know if there are some football detox programs and even if there are, I wouldn’t voluntarily participate. Hopefully my family wouldn’t perform some sort of intervention.

Fact is, I don’t want to quit, however as a Broncos fanatic that may change as the season progresses.

NFL and NCAA nfl are religion for a huge percentage of the population. We’re corn chip-eating cult members following the rantings of Chris Collinsworth.

So it is on. The 2009 year commenced and, for better or for worse, life won’t be the same until a month into 2010, when the natural football detox begins.

Related posts brought to you by Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]> Best-selling author Terry Pratchett’s most recent (2009) novel Unseen Academicals is a satire on the phenomenon of European football (soccer), plus a number of other social activities that often go along with it. For that reason, the book may have a greater appeal to a UK audience than in America; especially since one of the main themes is football hooliganism, a distinct UK phenomenon.

But really, the book is about so much more than football (soccer) and makes for fabulous entertainment for anybody, American or British. It is also a book about fashion super models (and their association with football super stars); pies of every conceivable variety (and their association with football fans); as well as goblins and orcs (association to football unknown).

In the hallmark Terry Pratchett tradition, things on the Discworld are just like in our own world, only hilariously exaggerated. Instead of cheerleaders, the Discworld has naiads dancing on the sidelines, and in the place of our tail-gate markets, there are cart-tail vendors.

The main character in the book is the goblin-turned-orc Mr. Nutt, who is one of only a dozen or so surviving orcs on Discworld. In a display of philanthropy, two of the world’s most powerful despotic rulers decide to take Nutt on as a project, to help not only him but his entire persecuted race.

It should be mentioned that these two enlightened world leaders, Lady Margolotta and Lord Vetinari have previously done the same to help werewolves, rock trolls, golems, and vampires become accepted members of society. Margolotta herself being one of the latter, or so rumor has it.

In his process of accumulating ‘worth’ in human society, the orc Mr. Nutt gathers a huge following of staunchly devoted friends and admirers. His co-worker Trev Likely will go to any length to defend his orc friend, and an unlikely romance begins budding between Nutt and the head of the night kitchen at Unseen University, Miss Glenda Sugarbean, supreme creator of pies.

Mr. Nutt so impresses his superiors at Unseen University with his strategic thinking and vast knowledge that they decide to place him in charge of the school’s new football team as its head coach. After that, there is no stopping the events that follow.

Unseen Academicals is a parody not only on European football (soccer) but also on food (especially pies), clothes and modeling, and the perplexing nature or human beings. So if you don’t wear clothes or eat food, then this book may not amuse you. But if you do, it will most assuredly provide you with barrels of laughs.

Britt Hellman lives in Western North Carolina with her husband and their three boys. A copywriter by profession, she writes book reviews as a hobby. Visit her web-site named after The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett, where you can order Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett or any of the other 36 novels in the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.

With the Super Bowl just a few weeks away, have you decided what to serve the crowds of screaming football fans that will be invading your home? Do yourself a favor and keep it simple. No one will want to leave the game for a formal meal. Just give them snacks they can enjoy while they watch the game.

Set up your buffet table near enough to the television that no one will miss an exciting play. Hot food is perfect in the cold weather of February, so use your crock pots. Use crock pots to make pulled pork, chili, or stew. Swedish meatballs are simple to make in a crock pot. Set out a box of toothpicks and your guests can help themselves. You may want to make a pan of lasagna or a pot of spaghetti. Both can be assembled ahead of time and cooked quickly just before everyone arrives. Set the pans out on the buffet and let everyone dish up themselves. Buffalo chicken wings are easy to make ahead of time and reheat.

Everyone loves chips and dip. You can also place cream cheese on a plate and pour salsa over it. Serve it with tortilla chips for a quick dish. Make some deli sandwiches using French or Italian bread. Fill them up with sliced cheese and cold cuts, wrap them in plastic, and put them in the fridge until you need them. Cut and serve as needed. If you want, you can even pop some in the oven for warming.

Use bread bowls for people to use for chili or even spaghetti. The bowl will taste as good as the filling. Make a bunch of baked potatoes or hot dogs and set them out with toppings. Your guests can design their own dog or potato by adding their favorites.

If you want to stick with an appetizers only party, your choices are endless. From simple cheese and crackers to sausage rolls, you cannot go wrong. You can even find a recipe for beer puffs. Anything wrapped in bacon will be a hit. Wrap bacon around a cube of cheese, a shrimp, or a slice of sausage for an appetizer that will be gone as soon as you put it on the table. Do not worry so much about healthy snacks during the Super Bowl… it is one day that everyone wants to nosh on foods that make them feel good.

Provide your thirsty guests with plenty to drink. Keep a cooler of beer and soda on hand to quench that thirst that occurs from screaming at the television during extremely good or bad plays. Stock up on several varieties so everyone can enjoy their favorites. Keep them chilled on ice in a few coolers near the food table.

Whatever Superbowl party recipes you decide to make is up to you. Just make sure you make enough to satisfy your guests. Set the food out on the table in shifts so there is always something tasty to eat. You do not want to go down in history for running out of food by halftime.

Your Superbowl party will be a success as long as you feed your guests some great food and your television reception is good. Everyone will have a great time, including you.

Making effortless Superbowl party recipes means that you can prepare all your munchies well ahead of time and settle down with your guests when the game starts. There are lots of Superbowl recipes to choose from and meat munchies, like chicken wings, ribs and hot dogs, are always incredibly popular. You will find hundreds of quick effortless appetizers at our website to give you some more ideas.

Throwing the Best Super Bowl Party Ever http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/throwing-the-best-super-bowl-party-ever/ http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/throwing-the-best-super-bowl-party-ever/#comments Mon, 18 Jan 2010 13:48:56 +0000 Ken Kudra http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/throwing-the-best-super-bowl-party-ever/ Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]> So, you are anticipating the big game. You are thinking of having everyone over to enjoy the game and have some fun. You want everything to go smoothly so everyone has a great time. The anticipation grows and you begin to worry about disappointing your guests. You are in luck because there are several things you can do to make sure your party is a success.

Remember all those tailgate parties you went to at the stadium during football season? Why not make your Super Bowl party the same way? Set up lawn chairs for extra seating around the TV. Set food out buffet style on the table and let everyone help themselves as they wish. Get a good supply of good quality paper plates and plastic utensils… you will love it when it comes to cleaning up! Invoking the memories of tailgating last fall will help make your party a success.

Buy plenty of cold beverages. Screaming and cheering for your favorite team is thirsty work! Stock up on beer, soda, and water for your guests. You can use ice chests to keep them cold and keep them close at hand, just like at those tailgating parties you are trying to reproduce in your living room.

Let us talk about food. Every great Super Bowl party has great snack foods. Snacks are easy to make and are fun to eat while you are watching the game. Think of delicious snacks like meatballs, pizza, nachos, chicken wings… almost anything that tastes great and you can eat with your hands. If you serve chili or other food that needs to go in a bowl, use paper cups. Use crock pots and platters to serve the food so your guests can graze.

Another Super Bowl party tradition is the giant submarine sandwich. Pile it high with tomato, lettuce, and cold cuts. Surround it with lots of chips and dips to choose from. Other finger foods like sausage rolls and pigs in blankets are easy to make and they taste fabulous. Keep everything simple and fun so you can relax, too.

Not everyone is a big football fan, and it is inevitable that there will be a few who just do not care too much about watching. Let them congregate in a nice corner with lots of goodies to eat so they can visit and have a good time. If some guests are bringing children, set up a play room with toys they can enjoy during the game. Give them some snacks and they will have a great time.

Making Superbowl party food should be stress free and simple. You should be able to enjoy the game if you wish, or stay with the guests who prefer to visit. Either way, choose foods that make it easy for you. If you can prepare some the day before, all the better. Offer the food throughout the afternoon so it is not all gone at one time.

You should be able to relax on Super Bowl Sunday, or at least join in the mayhem as your team makes the winning touchdown. Football fans do get intense at times. Either way, you should revel in feeding your guests delicious snacks and having a ball.

Making effortless Superbowl party recipes means that you can prepare all your snacks well in advance and relax with your guests when the game starts. There are lots of Superbowl recipes to choose from and meat snacks, like chicken wings, ribs and hot dogs, are always incredibly popular. You will find hundreds of quick effortless appetizers at our website to give you some more ideas.
