Football Is Back, And My Life Has Changed

It has at long last begun. Football 2009.

In principle it started last week on the smurf turf in Boise, Idaho in a game destined to be known for what occurred afterwards the blunt Blount party -more than anything that occurred at several point in the 60 minutes of the game.

And now the Steelers – hoping to become the 1st franchise since the Pats to repeat – began their championship defense with a gratifying victory over the Titans to inaugurate the 2009 football year.

I understand I’m not as productive throughout football season. Suddenly, I am only doing stuff during commercials, if ever, on Saturdays and Sundays, plus Thursday nights, Friday nights, and Monday nights.

Then throw in fantasy football – which drastically lessens the amount of time I’d otherwise be productive, writing, or doing something prolific-and more hours than I care to acknowledge are devoted to this game.

This time of season, I undoubtedly don’t eat as well.

Wednesday night, I had fish with mixed vegetables and went for a dip after a six mile jog.

Thursday (game day), I had a super burrito, too many chips, beers, ice cream, more chips, and saw the movie Max Payne following the game, prior to checking fantasy stats for Kerry Collins and then staggering to bed, full from the chips.

Do not know if there are some football detox programs and even if there are, I wouldn’t voluntarily participate. Hopefully my family wouldn’t perform some sort of intervention.

Fact is, I don’t want to quit, however as a Broncos fanatic that may change as the season progresses.

NFL and NCAA nfl are religion for a huge percentage of the population. We’re corn chip-eating cult members following the rantings of Chris Collinsworth.

So it is on. The 2009 year commenced and, for better or for worse, life won’t be the same until a month into 2010, when the natural football detox begins.

Stamina and concentration also play a major factor in becoming a footballer. Your training will definitely give you the stamina but the concentration will need to be worked on regularly.

Professional footballers are the role models that young kids always look up to. This is why they should always act in a responsible manner. Football is all about working as a team and working with the right attitude and commitment. You have to prove that you are competitive but that you are also fair minded.

Carrying the right attitude is vitally important as it can have a major bearing on not only the game but on how people see you. There have been many instances of bad attitude in football that has led to players getting into trouble. Behaving like this on the pitch could make people behave the same in the real world and that is not acceptable.

Football is also a great leveler. It can show you how to be a success on the pitch and it can also show you how to deal with the losses too. This can be a great lesson to take into the real world with you when you are not playing football.

These are a few of the reasons why many schools and colleges are offering football as extra curricular activities. There are a lot of lessons that can be learned in playing football that you can adopt outside of the football field.

Forwards

The forwards like its name suggest, plays right at the top of the field in front of the opponent’s goal. Their main job is to put the ball into their opponent’s net, and therefore pace and acceleration is important, as well as the ability to shoot and head. Players in this area are also often some of the world’s most renowned football player, because frankly everybody enjoys watching forward score than to watch a beautiful defensive game.

Entering the year, the Bengals defensive unit looked to be a lot better. But the question remained whether they might have the talent to overcome a few of the weaknesses of last season’s team. Let’s break down the three essential areas as I see things.

The team rarely got to the QB last year, and when they were able to, it generally came from the linebacker position.

During the game against Denver last Sunday, the Bengals recorded three sacks, all of which came from the defensive unit. DE Antwan Odom registered two sacks, which included one large one in the 4th quarter, which put Denver beyond field goal position.

Jonathan Fanene was responsible for the other sack.

At present, I’d say the d-line looks improved in the area of attacking the QB, although there’s room for much advancement. Much of that comes from the other end, Robert Geathers, whose unpredictability continues to be a dilemma.

During the preseason, the defensive line looked like they were definitely going to take it to the next level, with respect to stopping the run. The signing of Tank Johnson was bound to benefit the team in this area.

For the game against the Broncos, the run defense was quite unexciting. There was nothing that stood out, but the d-line didn’t let up any big plays either. They surrendered an average of 3.8 YPC and 75 yards.

That is a positive step, from a total yardage perspective. If you offer up less than 100 yards on the ground, you’re giving your team a chance to come away with a victory.

It would be good to see the yards per carry average fall to three or less, however. While Tank Johnson saw a fair amount of double coverage, he still made his presence known with two tackles and brings a dose of toughness to this defense.

Most people probably think that stadiums have gotten a lot bigger over the last few decades, as the likes of football continue to increase in popularity. The reality is that this is not the case as health and safety means that most grounds need to be reduced in capacity in order to keep fans safe.

Estadio Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo and Wembley are the two stadiums that will share 9th position. The Brazilians held the world cup back in 1950 and for this reason; they went ahead and built the Brazilians. There were some intense battles throughout the cup and it attracted 200,000 people there. Since then though, the stadium has been reduced to just 96,000.

Barcelona has always been an impressive team and their stadium is just as impressive. It has a capacity of 98,772 currently, after being reduced from 105,000. It was originally built back in 1957

Fifth position is a joint effort between the Bukit Jalil National Stadium and the Azadi Stadium. Bukit Jalil hosted the Commonwealth Games back in 1998, so was popular after this. The Azadi on the other hand, is the home ground of the Iranian National Football Team.

Melbourne Cricket Ground will take 4th place. It is better known in the past for its cricket, but recent football events make it extremely popular around Football forums. The Melbourne Cricket Ground holds over 100,000 people and was built a long time ago, in the 1800s.

Sheffield FC – The Oldest Club Around

Sheffield F.C (Sheffield Football Club) is an English based team that resides in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Whilst they are not the oldest noted club, they are the oldest club that is still playing Association Football. They were originally founded in 1857, and are still going strong. They are several Football Forums dedicated to the team and these will continue to be open as long as the club is running.

The competition for Sheffield does seem to get a lot tougher for the team, especially as they are competing in the Northern Premier League Division. As a team they have used several different grounds over the last few decades, including the likes of Bramall Lane. They have since settled at a new venue; the Coach and Horses Ground in Dronfield, Derbyshire.

They have had some good times over the years, such as 1860, when they finally took part in a Sheffield Derby. The opposing team was Hallam, the first match of its kind in history. The events of that day are something that is still talked about on local Football Forums.

Whilst they are a popular club, they are no necessarily one of the top clubs in the UK. In fact, they would not touch the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea. Even so, they have managed to pick up a few trophies, including the FA Amateur Cup back in 1904, and a 2nd place in the FA Vase back in 1977. Missing out on a chance in the next World Cup, Brazil managed to reach a final once again in 1970, coming up against the Italians. It would be 1994 before Brazil saw another World Cup victory attempt. This time they would come against the Italians once more, hoping to repeat their previous performance. Italy is another team that has shown some strength over the years. They won in 1934, managing to successfully defend this title in 1938. After this they managed to score big in the 1982 World Cup, eventually taking the win and have managed to pick up a fourth victory since then.

Apart from this, Germany is probably considered the next best team. They took a win in the 50s against the Hungarians, with wins in 1974 and 1990.
