Soccer means everything to football fans; they are glued to their TV sets and internet. It is a 5th addition to the 4 seasons. This is Gala time for all FIFA fans! Food, beverages and Football become the three basic necessities, if you’re a devotee.

However, it’s not just the fans who wait eagerly for the World Cup but also the BRANDS who swoop down on FIFA to leverage their products. From the smallest player to the big names, every brand wants a piece of the FIFA visibility pie. They are great at leveraging everything about the event, everything that is happening in and around football. Participation in FIFA related events, quizzes and contests becomes an irresistible prospect for all FIFA fans, there’s so much on offer!

Long before the FIFA 2010 edition made its debut on 11th of June, many big brands had already started to formulate their brand promotions based on it. It’s an event that comes only once in four years, an event which celebrates the joy of world’s favourite sport. Beginning with Coke, the longest standing partner of FIFA since 1974, Coke incorporated the FIFA theme into its global brand communication. ‘Coke Opens Happiness’ was blended with the finest and happiest celebration moments from the world cup.

The company did not stop at just promoting itself but it also persuaded a call to action. It engaged the audience in its campaign through the “Celebrating the Goal” contest. The contest was about displaying your celebration style for a goal scored by you. Here in this contest Coke gave football fans chance to win FIFA Match tickets. Simplicity of the contest got this campaign extremely high recognition and hoards of people took part in it.

Another big brand to canvas FIFA theme in its promotion was Sony Ericsson. The Japanese-Swedish company in collaboration with Cherrypicks developed an interactive football theme based game wherein the players had to hit the ball with their head and advance to further level. The winners of the header game won exciting FIFA goodies.

Both the companies gained extensive exposure on conventional as well as digital media. The campaigns ranged from online applications to contests on Facebook, Twitter and Orkut etc. in addition to regular communication.

With most the international brands charging in, how could an Indian brand with International standards lag behind? So GoJiyo also jumped in line. This should be an interesting experience for all the Shakira fans; the virtual world also claims that you can dance to the tunes of waka waka right inside the virtual world. A new concept – let’s see how it is received by the users. They’ve constructed a giant Jabulani with head phones inside the virtual world for all the FIFA fans in GoJiyo. The football has been made clickable; a click lets users listen to the official FIFA Album.

From the international brands to Indian brands, FIFA has been a theme of utmost interest. And each one has incorporated this into their marketing strategy and brand communications to the fullest. Brands spare no expense to capitalize on this “Fifaism”. The competition heats up with all brands harping on the FIFA mantra and attracting more and more consumers.

Is this what they call “THE FIFA FEVER?

Wanna fly around without any inhibitions? Then GoJiyo lets you fly like an bird and roam free. If you would like to know more, check out GoJiyo the hottest, most talked about place this season.

The Chicago Bears, beloved NFL franchise since 1919, have had many glorious years, with many more to come. This is one of those old-time teams that has a place in the hearts of thousands; a team full of passion and fight, a team that does what it takes to get to the end. Two short years after they were founded, the Bears began their rivalry with the Green Bay Packers, one thing fans can count on year in and year out. One year after this rivalry began, the Bears took their current colors, and have kept them ever since. That is one of the great things about this team, besides their talent, the fact that they are stable and are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Wrigley Field, another popular field to Chicagoans, was used as the Bears’ stomping grounds in the old days, mostly for scrimmage games. The team, obviously, needed a stadium they could call home, which they had not too long after they were a team, a stadium we all know as Soldier Field. Over the years the stadium has taken a lot of abuse, and required quite a bit of remodeling. The entire stadium was pretty much tore down and rebuilt by 2003, leaving only one wall from the original stadium. The new stadium was so different and new, in fact, that it was even renamed the Soldier Field II.

The Chicago Bears have always made record sales for home games, and even games on the road. Ticket sales, for the Chicago bears, are well within the top 20 highest sales across the entire league. In fact, they are within the top 10 most profitable teams in the NFL, and its history, with a cash flow of 1.1 billion dollars. The combination of their solid history, the 2009 roster changes, and summer training, the 2009 season was just as eventful as every other season the Bears have given their fans. Jay Cutler, a Pro Bowl quarterback from the Broncos, joined the Bears in the spring of 2009, which added some great talent to their offensive line.

After 90 years on the league, the Bears have retired 13 numbers. Players like Walter Payton, Harold Grange, Sid Luckman, George Halas, George McAfee, and Bill George — some old and some more recent. Other retired jerseys belong to Willie Galimore, Dick Butkus, Bill Hewitt, Clyde Turner, Gayle Sayers, Brian Piccolo, and Bronko Naqurski. Their history runs deep and will for many years to come. Bears fans are just as dedicated to their team, as the team is to the field and their fans.

There is nothing quite like being at a football game and hearing the players throw each other around the field. The sweat, grunting, play calls, and yelling are enough to get anyone excited about the game. Many say you don’t really experience football until you see the Chicago Bears play, especially live. This will be another astonishing year for the team. Don’t miss you chance to see them play, live, at Soldier Field II.

Will The Ravens Make It To The Big Game? http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/03/will-the-ravens-make-it-to-the-big-game/ http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/03/will-the-ravens-make-it-to-the-big-game/#comments Wed, 10 Mar 2010 22:08:25 +0000 Matt Ryan http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/03/will-the-ravens-make-it-to-the-big-game/ Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]> The Baltimore Ravens are, what many sports enthusiasts would call, infants in the NFL. The originated in Cleveland, and after much debate, Art Modell finally got his wish of moving them to Baltimore. They did not have their own stadium, at first, so they plated in Memorial Stadium, home of the Colts. It only took two years for their stadium to be ready; although, the name of the stadium changed numerous times over the next ten years (it took some time for the team to settle in).

After they moved to their new stadium, the Ravens did not overly improve their game, not even with coach Marchibroda. Their first season ended at a 6-10 record, nothing overly impressive. After only two years, in their new stadium, the head coached was replaced with Billick. Billick’s first season, with the Ravens proved to be a difficult one. Once the team got over the hump of having a new coach, and a few rough years behind them, they ended their ‘99 season with a 8-8 record; the best they’d seen yet.

Not even ten years later, the 2008 season, the Baltimore Ravens nearly made it to the Super Bowl. In a fight on home turf against the Jaguars, they won their spot in the AFC playoffs placement. An unfortunate turn of events allowed them to slip out of the running for the Super Bowl, but they made it farther than they ever had.

After a phenomenal season in 2008, the team has a new saying — “Play like a Raven”. This saying is spreading quickly, especially around home. Those who witnessed play during training of the 2009 summer will vouch for the fact that the team busted their humps. So not only was the team pumped to play, but they also had 26th pick in the draft, which helped them a lot. Michael Oher was predicted to see some good field time in the ‘09 season with the Ravens.

The Ravens are a new team as they are just starting their 12th season on the NFL. Regardless, after some hard work, they have made their way to some big games and attention. Everyone is excited about the 2010 season. The tickets will sell quick so be sure get your tickets as soon as they go on-sale!

Peyton Manning Vs. Brees Will Turn Out To Be Everything We Expect http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/02/colts-manning-versus-brees-destine-to-turn-out-to-be-everything-we-hope-for/ http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/02/colts-manning-versus-brees-destine-to-turn-out-to-be-everything-we-hope-for/#comments Thu, 25 Feb 2010 19:15:41 +0000 Fred Slattery http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/02/colts-manning-versus-brees-destine-to-turn-out-to-be-everything-we-hope-for/ Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]> Many will tell you that the key to a football team’s success is its quarterback. After all, someone who can successfully find receivers is bound to put points on the scoreboard for his team. Still, others will tell you that it’s defense that wins championships. This year, though, was the year of the quarterback.

Peyton Manning and Drew Brees are believed by many to be the best two quarterbacks in football. Typically drafted before any others in fantasy leagues, the two of them are reliably consistent year in and year out, giving their teams the best offensive units in football. When they go head to head at this year’s Super Bowl, we’re going to see a battle of quarterbacks above all else.

These have both been great teams throughout the year. In fact, they were the last two teams to lose a regular season game and many were predicting undefeated years for both of them after they remained undefeated well into December.

Now, they have a chance to showcase their abilities once more in a game that is sure to result in a very high final score. This will be an offensive battle at its finest in Miami.

While both of them lost a few games during the last few weeks of the season, many would attribute this to the fact that they no longer needed to win more games in order to secure home field advantage.

Experts usually look at the defensive units when it comes to the Super Bowl. They say that defense wins championships, but neither of these quarterbacks seem to be hindered by an effective defense.

Recent champions have all resulted from highly proficient defenses and while both the Colts and Saints are efficient defensively, their defensive performances won’t matter much since each quarterback seems to be effective no matter what.

As a result, this year’s Super Bowl should be a classic battle that lives up to its expectations. Fans of the sport will be in for a treat, as the best two teams in football will be vying for the championship.

In addition to the NFL, this writer also frequently blogs about solar swimming pool panels and solar panels prices.

Jacksonville Jaguars Will Start 2009 With A Vengeance http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/jacksonville-jaguars-will-start-2009-with-a-vengeance/ http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/jacksonville-jaguars-will-start-2009-with-a-vengeance/#comments Sat, 16 Jan 2010 21:39:24 +0000 Matt Ryan http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/jacksonville-jaguars-will-start-2009-with-a-vengeance/ Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]> Jacksonville, Florida – at a point in time in history – had stated that they could not support a professional football team. However, ticket sales for the Jacksonville Jaguars have proven otherwise and have successfully supported the NFL franchise for years. Jaguar fans are dedicated and continue to purchase tickets and show up to all their home games regardless of their season record.

The NFL was looking for a city to start a new franchise in back in’92. They had their hopes on Charlotte, NC, St. Louis, MO, Baltimore, MD, Memphis, TN, or – their last choice – Jacksonville, FL. Florida already had two pro-football teams; there was really no need to add another.

Jacksonville, Florida was not a favorite pick for the NFL, for many different reasons. Besides the fact that Florida was full of professional sports teams, television ratings were low, the city was small, and it Jacksonville just did not quite match up to the other cities. Residents; however, were thrilled at the idea and bought 10,000 season tickets within a 10 day span. This event proved that Jacksonville was the best spot for the new franchise.

After 16 years on the field, the Jacksonville Jaguars still have not made it to a Super Bowl game, although they have come close. In’96, and again in’99, the team played for their AFC Division title – they did not win, but they played hard. In their first four years as a franchise, they made it to the playoffs three times, and NFL record.

The 2007 season proved to be another profitable year for the team as they closed the season with only two losses. Everyone expected this streak to carry into the next season – 2008 – but were proven wrong. The 2008 season ended up being the teams’ record worst and is one they wish they could replay.

Fans expected to see their team in the Super Bowl in 2008, or at the least, in the playoffs again. With multiple injuries and the players just not working as a team, it became apparent that the team was not going to get far this year. What closed the deal on this was when the Jaguars lost against the Bengals, who had not won a game all year. Sad thing is, they only lost by three points, which was even more devastating to the team.

Just because the team experienced a rough year does not mean they did not play hard – they did – there were just opportunities to be taken that were continually missed game after game. The entire team took a beating in the 2008 season, so much so that it gave them an adrenaline boost by the end of the year. They were able to beat the Detroit Lions – by a field goal – at the last minute, which also happened to be one of their last games of the season.

With a 5-11 record the Jaguars hung their heads and moved on. The 2009 season brings back many injured players, along with some new blood. Fans are hopeful that the combination of these two advantages will give the Jaguars the edge they need to get back into the game. Ticket sales are expected to be as high – if not higher – as normal, and those who do not rush to the box office may miss their chance to see the Jaguars play – live.

Say Goodbye to Giants Stadium http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/say-goodbye-to-giants-stadium/ http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/say-goodbye-to-giants-stadium/#comments Fri, 15 Jan 2010 16:16:18 +0000 Matt Ryan http://www.footballfansworld.net/2010/01/say-goodbye-to-giants-stadium/ Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]> Beginning with the season opener against Washington, the Giants appear to be playing the same schedule that they did in the ‘08 – ‘09 season. Not only will they be playing all three of their NFC East rivals during weeks- through 15, but they will be hosting the games against the Eagles and the Panthers. These are just a few of the highlights Giants fans can look forward to this year, even if it is the same as it was last season, the details of the games will be different.

The two weeks of preseason practices and games made it appear, to the fans and coaches, that the Giants had an unbreakable defense this year. Upon winning their first preseason game, against the Panthers, this would prove to be true; the Giants defense is strong and other teams should be prepared.

Coach Tom Coughlin plays a big role in the strength of the Giants this year. He was asked, during preseason, who he believed were his strongest players this year. While he gave kudos to a number of players, mostly on the defensive line, Sintim, Leger Dougable, Bruce Johnson, and Tommie Hill were at the top of the list.

The ‘09 season will be nothing short of memorable for fans, staff, and team members. They started with the amazing win of their first preseason game, along with the return of a great receiver – David Tyree. Tyree suffered a severe knee injury shortly after Super Bowl XLII, and had to sit on the sidelines during the ‘08 season. This put the team in a bit of bind, forcing them to find new talent, which they did.

Tyree, despite of the threat of new blood on the team, appears to be confident with his position on the team. He is promising his team, and fans, that he will perform as he did prior to his injury, and that they have nothing to fear. He believes he is valuable to the Giants, and if they do not see that, that he will be just as valuable to any other team in the NFL.

All of this said, Tyree missing an entire season, should not affect the team or how he plays. According to him, if the team is affected, it is not due to his lack of skill as he believes the injury has not harmed his abilities to perform. The first preseason game would prove this to be true, but there is still a whole season for him to play.

This season, 2009, is the Giants’ 85th anniversary in the NFL. This being said, it is also the last season they will play in their current stadium. Beginning in the 2010 season, the Giants will share a stadium with the Jets; they will play in the Meadowlands Stadium. Fans, loyal or not, this is your last chance to see the Giants play in their stadium.

This season brings a lot of excitement for fans across the world. Old players back on the field, anniversary, and closure on a part of the team. StubPass.com has all of the information, necessary, for upcoming games and events. This is the time to get into the stadium before its time to say goodbye. Help the Giants walk out of their stadium with glory.

Sam Boyd Stadium seats 40,000 fans and since 2001, the bowl gets first choice of Mountain West Conference teams. Normally, this team would be the MWC conference champion, unless that team was to qualify for the BCS.

The Maaco Bowl Las Vegas has been around since 1981, when it was first introduced as the California Raisin Bowl. The bowl was played in Fresno, California until 1991, when it was moved to Las Vegas and renamed the Las Vegas Bowl. In 1995, the first-ever overtime college football game was played in the Las Vegas Bowl when Toledo defeated Nevada 40-37. The following season, overtime was adopted for the regular college football season.

BYU has played in more Las Vegas Bowls than any other college football team, with four bowl appearances, with Nevada and UCLA trailing with three appearances each. No college team has more than two bowl wins, and with this year likely to feature a strong Pac-10 team and the conference champion from the MWC, it should another great year of bowl action.

But once the teams are set, the event kicks in for real with the Team Welcome … Media Conference on December 10th at the ESPN Zone. On December 19th, fans will enjoy Terry Fator Show Night at The Mirage and return to the ESPN Zone for the Welcome Reception.

Sunday, December 12, see Kids Day, the luncheon and a visit to the Sunrise Children’s Hospital by the teams. Fans will gather at the Fremont Street Experience on December 21 to cheer along in a pep rally, and there will be several events at the Las Vegas Convention Center, including a Cheer Clinic, Kickoff Luncheon, and Kickoff Media Conference. just before the game kicks off at the stadium, Budweiser sponsors the Bud Light Pre Game Tailgate Party.

The college football system is controversial among sports fans. Some fans love it while others would like to see it replaced with a more traditional playoff system. While it does have it’s detractors, there is no doubt that the college bowl games are a great atmosphere and one that all college football fans should experience.
