The baseball team that represents the University of Alabama which has been playing for the NCCA Division I college baseball league for some time now is known as the Crimson Tide.
Progressing quite significantly in baseball, Crimson tide has also participated in the southeastern conference as well as the Western Division while all games they take part in are said to be hosted at their home ground which is the Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
With a current record of over 2000 wins Alabama has been winning games repeatedly for the past many years and their Stadium is said to be able to hold around 6571 fans and spectators at one time. Their head coach at present is Mitch Gaspard.
The coach who helped Alabama to win all their matches earlier was Jim Wells and he was replaced by Mitch Gaspard, the present coach. Many players from the Alabama University after graduating went on to play major league.
Some of the players included John Baumgarner, Jack Bolling, Ike Boone, Andy Cohen, Lance Cromier and may more. We are going to take a closer look at some of the stats of a few selected well known players that made it to major league.
Taylor Mark Tankersely Born on 7th March 1983, a very popular player who started off with the Florida Marlins on 3rd June 2006 and plays as a relief pitcher. Being both a left handed batsmen and thrower, Taylor has had an impressive run with an earned run average of 4.25, 108 strike outs and a win loss ratio of 8:3 to date.
Tommy Hunter Tommy Hunter was born on 3rd July 1986 and is a starting pitcher for the Texas Rangers who wears the number 35. Another very popular player Tommy debuts for Texas Rangers on 1st August 2008 and is still playing for them. His remarkable career consists of a win loss ratio of 9:8 while his present earned run average is 5.20. He also has 73 strike outs.
One of the most recent players to join major league from the Alabama University is David Robertson who made his debut with the New York Yankees on 29th June 2008. Born on 9th April 1985, David is another famous player that has come through the University of Alabama.
He wears the number 30 for the Yankees and plays as a relief pitcher. His current stats for this career are quire amazing as he already has a win loss ration of 6-1. His earned run average is 4.14 with 99 strike outs. At such an early age in his career, he has been able to participate in the World Series Champion, 2009. Many have high hopes from this young player in the future.
