Various men national teams of different countries take part in this grand event. Various qualifier matches are played before this frand event. The teams of different nations must qualify these matches before qualifying for the World Cup. 32 national teams of different countries are selected for this grand event which continues for a time period of 1 month.

The Montreal Alouettes demonstrated the form that has made them the CFLs top team in a Saturday visit to Winnipeg. Anthony Calvillo threw four touchdown passes as the Alouettes prevailed easily over the Blue Bombers by a 39-12 score.

The Edmonton Eskimos survived a wild back and forth CFL shootout against the Calgary Stampeders before prevailing 38-35 to take over sole possession of first place in the CFL West. Ricky Ray hit Fred Stamps with a 23 yard touchdown pass with just nine seconds to play to earn the victory, erasing the lead that Calgary had earned with their own TD pass less than a half minute earlier. Edmonton improved to 4-3 with the win, while Calgary dropped to 3-4.

Chelsea defender John Terry, whose reputation has been damaged beyond repair in the last 12 months, has a faced further shame after his father, Ted Terry was caught dealing drugs. The former England captain was still suffering the effects of his affair with an ex-girlfriend of England team-mate Wayne Bridge, when an undercover reporter was sold cocaine by his father, 55, in an Essex bar.

Brett Favre has been a large component of the Minnesota Vikings undefeated start the NFL regular season, and on Monday night he finally beat his old team, the Green Bay Packers. Favre passed for 271 yards and three touchdowns as the Vikings prevailed by a 30-23 final score. With the victory, Favre has now defeated all 32 NFL teams during his Hall of Fame career. The Vikings improved to 4-0, while the Packers dropped to 2-2.

The Baltimore Ravens are clearly responding to first year defensive coordinator Greg Mattison. In Mattison’s debut as an NFL coordinator the Ravens obliterated their regional rivals the Washington Redskins, completing a shutout by a final score of 23-0.

Well it is another season for the Detroit tigers and that can only mean one thing, another season of so close yet so far. Let’s face it the football team sucks, the basketball team sucks, and the hockey team is barely hanging on. This leaves the hope for a successful sports season in Detroit in the hands of the Tigers, this is as good of an idea as leaving a child with a hammer and anvil. The Tigers are not a bad baseball team, they are just not a good one.
