Penn State Nittany Lions officially represents the University o Pennsylvania in minor and major baseball games and tournaments. The team is a participant to the NCCA Division I FBS and the Big Ten Conference. Penn State Nittany Lions are known for the colors blue and white.

Best-selling author Terry Pratchett’s most recent (2009) novel Unseen Academicals is a satire on the phenomenon of European football (soccer), plus a number of other social activities that often go along with it. For that reason, the book may have a greater appeal to a UK audience than in America; especially since one of the main themes is football hooliganism, a distinct UK phenomenon.

The Auburn Tigers was the commonly referred to name of the Auburn University baseball team who were known to play in the NCAA Division I college baseball and also a part of the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference.

Baylor Bears is the name of the successful baseball team of the Baylor University. Like most other teams, they are at present playing in the NCCA Division I college baseball while it is the Big 12 Conference that controls the team.

Kyle Orton’s debut as the Denver Broncos starting QB didn’t go quite as planned. Orton, who was acquired from Chicago in the off-season, threw interceptions on each of his first three offensive series. San Francisco’s offense didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard, but it did do enough to eke out a 17-16 NFL preseason victory before their home fans.

It wasn’t a game for the ages by the Buffalo Bills, as they blew much of a 17 point lead to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Still, they did what they had to do and put some offense on the board en route to a 33-20 National Football League victory. The Bills shot out to a 17-0 first quarter lead before Tampa Bay answered with 14 of their own in the second quarter.
