No Price Change for New Mexico Bowl Tickets

The fourth annual New Mexico Bowl will be played on December 19, 2009 and will feature a Mountain West team against a team from the Western Athletic Conference. Played in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the bowl is one of the many NCAA sanctioned football bowl games and will be televised on ESPN. The game is played on the campus of the University of New Mexico. The bowl game is supervised by ESPN.

One of the more interesting aspects of the New Mexico Bowl is the game trophy, which is a twenty inch tall piece of Zia Pueblo pottery, adorned with Pueblo symbols. The New Mexico Bowl logo and the logos of the competing teams is also added to the trophy.

The Zia symbol is the same symbol that is found on the New Mexico state flag and is also incorporated into the bowl game logo. The unique trophies extend to the most valuable player trophies, which are made of traditional leather shields, another nod to the culture of New Mexico.

The first New Mexico Bowl was played on December 23, 2006 and featured San Jose State against hometown New Mexico, but New Mexico could not capitalize on their homegrown advantage, losing 20-12. The following year, New Mexico returned to the bowl game to defeat Nevada 23-0. Colorado State defeated Fresno State in 2008, the first year which did feature New Mexico as a competitor.

Unlike many bowl games and sports promoters who are still trying to raise prices even in the tough economic climate, the New Mexico Bowl organizers are keeping tickets the same prices as previous games. This is a wise idea to allow more fans to attend the game, giving a full crowd more access to a college bowl atmosphere. After all, the players would rather play to a full house of happy fans instead of a quiet stadium.

If you are looking to attend the New Mexico Bowl, either as a fan of one of the competing schools, or if you just love college football and want to experience a college bowl game, remember that with this bowl there are a lot of good deals to be found. Make sure to check out all the prices in one place using a free online ticket tool like TicketZinger.com, which shows all of the cheapest New Mexico Bowl tickets at one time. Be careful if you are buying on eBay or Craigslist, although sometimes there are good deals to be found, remember the old rule that if sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
